Our annual volunteer leadership conference draws hundreds of community members and staff together to celebrate the previous year’s achievements and to get energized for the year ahead. Branding this conference drew an overwhelmingly positive response from conference attendees and resulted in a high level of satisfaction in exit surveying.

THE PROBLEM

This conference was a fan favorite for the foundation but it lacked any brand equity or creative strategy. The logo was different year over year, the presentations and materials were underserving their potential, and it was time for an elevation.

VLC is a forum for innovation and ideas. A place to connect with your friends. For some, it was the social event of the season. We made the decision early on that this conference needed a standard logo to help build brand equity year over year. The lightbulb harnesses the power of ideas, while the community fuels the light from within.

Event experience

The next evolution for the brand was creating a memorable event experience. We overhauled the staging, designing a dramatic background paired with modern, minimalist furniture. Signage that directed attendees with a fresh, relatable tone anchored the hallways while badges and program books gave fresh inspiration. We added backdrops for photos and pumped up the presentations.
